Sunday Five | VOL: 02 Raw & Refined
By Fatma Tekeci — Founder & Principal Designer
By Fatma Tekeci
Fatma is the founder and principal designer of Studio Lunarey. Born and raised in Turkey, her global background naturally shapes the way she designs, bringing a sense of balance, craftsmanship, and care for materials and proportion into every project. With years of experience in residential design, Fatma blends creative intuition with technical clarity, helping clients navigate complex decisions with confidence and ease.
As we continue to explore the materials and forms that define Studio LUNAREY, our focus remains on pieces that carry a sense of history and tactile richness. We believe a space should never feel entirely brand new; it needs layers that feel lived-in, grounded, and deeply personal.
We are highlighting elements that celebrate raw materials, worldly craftsmanship, and finishes that only get better with time.
1.Margaux Limewash Paint
by Color Atelier
I am endlessly fascinated by walls that feel 'alive', and this mineral-based lime paint does exactly that. Instead of a flat, sterile finish, this limewash creates a softly textured, matte surface with subtle, natural movement. I chose this because it’s a truly traditional material that breathes and ages beautifully, developing a rich patina over time. It is the perfect foundational layer to give any room a sense of history and earthy warmth, acting more like a plaster aesthetic than a standard paint.

2. Unlacquered Brass Hardware by Modern Matter Hardware
Hardware is the handshake of a home, and unlacquered brass is our absolute favorite material to use. I can’t stop thinking about how this 'living' metal interacts with its environment darkening where it isn't touched and staying polished where hands frequently grab it. I love this material because it rebels against the idea of perfection. It’s a statement of permanence that slowly records the daily rhythms of the people who live there.

3. Feather Fan Mosaic Tiles
by Terra Bella Interiors
I am a sucker for rhythmic patterns, and these mosaic tiles are an absolute dream. The gentle, sweeping curves of the feather fan shape bring a much-needed 'softness' to rigid, hard-surfaced spaces like bathrooms or kitchens. I chose these because they feel both organic and structural at the same time. They introduce an elegant, almost Art Deco-inspired movement that turns a simple backsplash or shower wall into a captivating focal point.

4. Travertine Fluted Plinths
by Natural Stone Co
Pedestals are an unsung hero in interior styling, and fluted travertine pieces are breathtaking. I chose this because the porous, earthy nature of the stone combined with classical fluted carving creates a beautiful tension between rough and refined. It’s the perfect 'Sunday Staple' to elevate a simple ceramic bowl or a sculptural vase of branches, turning an everyday corner into a curated, museum-like moment.

5. Aruba Rug
by Punja Kelim / Zoco Home
No space is complete without the softening influence of a textile that feels like it has lived many lives. I’m drawn to the Punja Kelim weave a handcrafted technique that feels both ancient and remarkably modern. It brings a 'lived-in' softness that grounds a room, serving as a reminder that the best interiors are those that invite you to touch and stay a while.
