5 Storage Ideas for Kitchen Remodeling
By Fatma — Founder & Principal Designer
1-Pull-out Narrow Pantry
If you've ever looked at that skinny gap in your kitchen and thought "what do I even do with that?", this is your answer.
A pull-out pantry is one of my favorite small kitchen storage ideas because it takes a space you'd normally overlook and turns it into something you'll actually use every single day. Spices, snacks, canned goods, the things that usually end up cluttering your counters, all of it gets a proper home, neatly stacked and easy to grab.
It looks just as good as it works. It feels intentional without trying too hard. Whether you're planning a kitchen renovation or just looking for a smart kitchen organization hack, a built-in pull-out pantry is one of those upgrades that genuinely changes how your kitchen functions.
2-Corner Cabinet Solution
Corner cabinets are the one thing that comes up in almost every kitchen project I work on. They're usually the most overlooked spot in the room, and the one with the most untapped potential.
Before I started designing them properly, mine was a graveyard of duplicate spice jars and a pan I definitely bought twice.
A lazy Susan changed everything. One rotating shelf and suddenly that deep, awkward corner becomes one of the hardest working spots in the kitchen, everything visible, everything reachable, no more kneeling on the floor guessing what's hiding in the back.
It's become one of my most-reached-for corner cabinet storage solutions in projects because the impact is immediate. Stack everyday dishes up top, appliances in the middle, heavier cookware at the front bottom where it's easiest to lift.
3-Appliance Garage
Countertop clutter is one of those things that comes up in almost every kitchen project I work on. The appliances are used daily, so they never really get put away, and before long the whole kitchen feels busier than it actually is.
An appliance garage is my answer to that. A dedicated cabinet with a roll-up door that sits right on the counter, toaster, blender, coffee maker, all lined up and ready to go, but completely out of sight when you don't need them.
It's become one of my favorite kitchen storage ideas because it solves a real everyday problem without adding a renovation. Your countertops stay clear, your kitchen looks pulled together, and everything is still exactly where you need it.
If kitchen counter organization is on your list, this is the one worth doing. Clean counters genuinely change how a kitchen feels to cook and live in, and that's always the goal.
4-Vertical Tray Storage
Trays, cutting boards, baking sheets, they're the things that somehow end up in a chaotic stack at the back of a cabinet, and every time you need the one at the bottom, it's a whole ordeal.
This comes up in almost every kitchen project I work on. Vertical tray storage is one of those fixes that sounds almost too simple, but once it's in, you wonder how you ever managed without it.
Slim dividers built into a deep drawer keep everything standing upright and individually slotted, grab what you need, slide it out, done. No unstacking, no wobbling piles, no frustration.
It's one of my favorite kitchen cabinet organization details because it takes something that's always a little annoying and just quietly solves it. If you're looking for smart kitchen storage solutions that make everyday cooking feel easier, this one is absolutely worth doing.
Small detail, big difference. That's always the goal.
5-Toe-Kick Drawer
Most people don't even know this space exists, and that's exactly what makes it one of my favorite details to include in a kitchen project.
The toe-kick, that slim gap between the bottom of your cabinets and the floor, is almost always completely wasted. A shallow pull-out drawer built into it changes that without taking up a single inch of your existing storage. And if you have a small kitchen, this is genuinely a game changer.
It's where I love to store the flat things that never quite have a home, baking trays, placemats, extra linens, the occasional muffin tin. Everything lays flat, stays out of sight, and is still completely easy to access.
It's one of those small kitchen storage solutions that people don't see coming, but always wish they'd done sooner. When every inch counts, you can't afford to leave that toe-kick empty. If you're planning a small kitchen renovation or just looking to squeeze more out of the space you already have, this is the one worth adding.
The best storage is the kind you don't even notice is there.
